Cafe hopping in Seoul!

Started the day in Itaewon. If you haven't been or don't know, Itaewon is one of the more diverse areas to visit. This is the place you should go if you want to go food hopping. We decided to go with Vatos Tacos. These are the awesome Kimchi fries.

Walked around Myeongdong and stocked up on some face masks and those Pig Nose Strips from HolikaHolika (will write up a post about that soon).

Meerkat Cafe

364-3 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

First cafe we went to was the Meerkat Cafe in Hongdae!! This was by far my favorite cafe out of all the ones we went that day. The place opens at 12pm, which I HIGHLY recommend to go on a weekday and once the place opens. We went on a Thursday and not knowing that it opened at 12pm, we got there once it opened and LOVED the fact that my husband and I were the only ones there.

Hello baby wallaby!

Since we arrived quite early (I don't think the employees were expecting anyone that early) we didn't get to hang out with the meerkats right away. They fed them first and while they fed the meerkats, we were able to feed the wallaby and see the other animals in the cafe.

This beautiful cat is a snow bengal cat, which I've never seen before. Such a beautiful breed!

The wonderful and gorgeous artic fox! I've never seen one before and he was a such a shy creature. Although I really wanted to pet him, I respected his space and let him be.

This baby was the sweetest!

Finally got to hang out with the meerkats! There's a time limit (10mins) when it comes to hanging out with the meerkats, BUT since we arrived quite early, and were the only ones in the cafe, we got to hang out with them longer. **I do advise that you were a shirt that covers your butt when you sit down, they like to dig into pockets and they were digging in my husband's pants trying to get in his butt! hahahaha

Does anyone happen to know what animal this guy is?

The Hello Kitty Cafe

364-14 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Next cafe on our list was The Hello Kitty Cafe. I'm not that into Hello Kitty (anymore), but I'd have to say that this was such a cute cafe! This would be a perfect place to bring your daughter, niece or girlfriends and feel young again.

The prices weren't bad at all especially if you just wanna go in there and experience the place. I ordered a sandwich that came with a salad and some coffee. My husband just wanted to use the place to catch Pokemon haha

There's also a little shop (on the left when you first walk in cafe) where you can buy all sorts of Hello Kitty souvenirs. I forgot to take a picture haha

Thanks Nature Cafe

486 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Next was the Thanks Nature Cafe. I wouldn't say this is an actual cafe that has sheep IN the cafe, they just chill outside of the cafe.

We ordered the red bean bingsu (which you should too). It's got shaved ice, condensed milk, red beans and a gooey sort of rice (?) pudding on top. It's my favorite dessert especially after walking all day in the humid heat.

On to the cute little sheep! They were so sweet, but VERY shy. Once you've purchased something at the cafe, you're more than welcome to pet them. THE BATHROOM is REALLY far from the cafe. They'll tell you, but.. It's quite a journey for the bathroom.

카페개네 Dog Cafe

46 Myeongdong 4-gil, Chungmuro 1(il)-ga, Jung-gu, 서울특별시 South Korea

Our last stop was the dog cafe in Myeongdong. We went to this one because it was closest to our hotel. This being our last stop, we thought that it would've been the best cafe because PUPPIES and we miss our pup. Turns out this was our LEAST favorite because the pups are very attached to the employees.

When you first walk in, they ask you if you have any treats/candy/chocolate. They also tell you which ones aren't very stranger friendly. You're probably thinking "Why the hell would they put dogs who don't like strangers?!" If you're not a dog person, they do this to show the dogs that strangers aren't dangerous and for them to get socialized. The dogs may bark at you, but they are more scared of you more than anything. Best thing to do is to walk in and ignore every dog until you sit and get situated.

**How to get a dog on your lap** DON'T reach out for them. DON'T try to talk to them or call them. Seriously. My husband kept trying to get one of them on his lap, but I just sat there waiting patiently. These dogs may meet strangers everyday, but they are VERY shy.

Overall, mine and my husband's favorite cafe was the MEERKAT CAFE!!! Make sure to visit it the next time you're in Seoul. SO worth it.

current mood after hunting all these cafes hahaha
